One time, in Italy…
One of my friends here was at a party at her tandem partner’s house, and the italians there started asking her about american parties and what they were like. She started to describe a normal american college party, and they like looked disappointed and told her that they thought american parties were in the school gym with music and decorations like in “the shining example” of american life, American Pie. She told them that that was only prom and most proms weren’t even held at the school, and they were disappointed.
